Bucharest – February 15, 2009 – mobilpay.ro, the most important micropayment via mobile phones services supplier in Romania, has processed 360.000 transactions valued at 2.4 million Euros.

The effect could be seen immediately through the growth of the number of transactions, the monthly average of the transactions being of 30.000, which has allowed us to maintain a market share of more than 80%”, as declared by Antonio Eram, Netopia System General Manager.

The users of the three mobile networks may do micropayments through SMS no matter the network access type: prepaid or subscription. At this moment in time there may be found values of 5,6,7,8,9,10 Euros for the Vodafone, Orange and COSMOTE operators through mobilpay™ Suplimentary, for Orange and Vodafone the 3 Euro value is also available, and the 15 and 20 Euro values for Vodafone.

The online commercial agents who have implemented mobilpay are, generally speaking, websites where customers pay for a large array of online services: from the possibility to buy music or video games to subscriptions for newspapers (as is the case for Capital, Catavencu, Adevarul, etc.) There are also websites where products may be bought, as is the case of okazii.ro.

In 2008 through the moiblpay system the online sale of a music album was done for the first time in Romania, the customers interested in this being able to buy, with only 4 Euros, the latest Vama album – by sending an SMS.
More than 100 online stores currently offer the possibility to their client to make payments using the mobilpay™ system.
